Clock:

Q. Does the game clock stup running after a touchdown and prior to an extra point try? 

A. Except for inside two minutes, no. Per rule VII. Timing & Overtime - Games are played on a *forty-four (44) minute continuous clock with two twenty-two (22) minute halves up to the final two (2) minutes of each half when the referee stops the clock for a *“2-minute warning” ... 

 

Game Play:

Q. Can the quarterback cross the line of scrimmage and run with the ball? 

A. No. Per rule XI.2 - Running. The quarterback cannot directly run with the ball. The quarterback does have the ability to scramble in the back field, but cannot advance the ball beyond the line of scrimmage. The quarterback is the offensive player that receives the snap.

 

Q. Can a player who receives a handoff throw the ball from behind the line of scrimmage? 

A. Yes. Per Rule XI.6 - Running, any player who takes the handoff can throw the ball from behind the line of scrimmage. 

 

Q. My player cannot snap the ball through the legs. Can we snap the ball from the side from the center to the quarterback? 

A. Yes. The center must snap the ball to a player in the backfield either by a traditional snap through the legs, shotgun snap, direct handoff, or underhand toss. All snaps must start with the ball on the ground.
