NFL Flag Football Division FAQs
When does registration open?
Online registration opens April 1, 2018.
When does registration close?
Online registration closes August 15, 2018.
When does the season start ?
The season starts in the late summer and runs into the fall. Practices do not start until late August, and regular season starts second weekend of September. The season consists of approximately eight regular season games and playoffs.
What are the divisions?
The WHYFL NFL flag division currently has four grade-based divisions.
Flag - Bantam - 1st & 2nd graders
Flag - Mighty Mite - 3rd & 4th graders
Flag - Pee Wee - 5th & 6th graders
Flag - Pony - 7th & 8th graders
All divisions will be co-ed.
What are the rules?
This division is 5-on-5 and will follow established NFL FLag football rules.
When are practices?
Teams will have one 1-hour practice each week on either Mon, Wed, Fri, or Sat. Coaches set practice date and time.
When are games?
All games will be played on Sundays at Sterling field. Games are one hour in length. Divisions will play at roughly the same time each week.
What equipment do I need to purchase?
Cleats, shorts, mouthpiece, and water bottle
What equipment does league provide?
All participants will receive an official NFL Flag reversible jersey and one set of flag belts.
Do you accept buddy requests?
Yes. We encourage kids to play on a team with their friends and ask that parents identify buddy requests on registration form. We will do our best to accommodate.
Are you looking for volunteers?
Yes. If you would like to volunteer, please email email@example.com.
Are your coaches certifed?
Yes. All coaches must register with the league, agree to code of conduct, register with NFL Flag football, complete a flag certification course, complete a CDC concussion awareness course, pass a background check, and complete CPR / First Aid training every two years.

2017 NFL Flag Snack Shack Volunteer Schedule
WHYFL is a volunteer run league. Coaches of the teams listed below must arrange for two adults to volunteer for their corresponding date & time slot (1 hour and 15 min. per volunteer slot). All volunteers must be at least 18 years old. All teams are being asked to share this responsibility. We have created the schedule so that it does not interfere with their respective games.
2017 NFL Flag Playoff Information & Schedule:
Playoffs will be held on Sunday, November 12.
The top four teams in each division will qualify.
Playoff seeding / tiebreakers will be based on # of regular season wins, head-to-head, and points against. Playoffs (both semifinals and championship games) will be held on Sunday, November 12. Yes, this means some teams will play two games (semi-final and championship) in one day. The schedule (as it stands right now) will be as follows. We will have trophies for 1st and 2nd place in each division.
Yes, we are considering consolation games for those who do not make playoffs. Working schedule as we may have field availability.
Times are subject to change. Teams will be notified if there is a change in schedule.
